Yukon Winter Adventure

Here you get a true Yukon winter experience!

Experience the winter of the Yukon in our cozy, snow covered log cabin and take part in various typical Yukon winter activities.
Our adventure package starts with a simple snow shoeing trip through the snowy winter landscape. You will be offered a magnificent panorama over the Whitehorse and Ibex Valley. Followed by a snowmobile adventure, northern light observations, alpine skiing or cross-country skiing, dog sledding, bathing in hot springs … – these are just some of the highlights of your Yukon winter adventure.

This week is characterized by a healthy mix of different winter activities. You will have the opportunity to get to know the beautiful winter landscape of the Yukon from different perspectives.
In addition to our winter adventure package, there is also plenty of time to relax and explore the snow covered landscape by yourself.

Day 1:
We will meet you at the airport in Whitehorse and take you on a shopping and sightseeing tour. Afterwards, we will drive to our place and your log cabin, where you will spend the next 7 days.

Day 2:
We still have to get used to the Yukon winter on the second day and start with a simple snowshoeing hike at the foot of nearby Pilot Mountain. Already during this tour through the snowy winter forest you will get to know the beauty of the winter landscape. Along our route, we take a few breaks and enjoy the beautiful view of the Whitehorse Valley and the Ibex Mountains.

Day 3:
Today there are various activities are available.
We offer you the possibility to enjoy a day cross-country skiing in the cross-country skiing area of Mount McIntyre or Alpine skiing in our ski area at Mount Sima. Of course, ski equipment is provided.
If you want to take it easy, take a sightseeing tour in Whitehorse and visit the MacBride Museum, which gives you a good impression of the Yukon history, the gold rush and the Yukon River sternwheeler. Afterwards we visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
In the evening we can sit at the camp fire and try to observe the famous Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis. With a little bit of luck you will see a wonderful coloring in the sky.

Day 4:
Now it’s snowmobile time!
Join us for an extended excursion with the snowmobile to the untouched nature and enjoy a day with the snowmobile on the Old Dawson or the Livingstone Trail in the hinterland.

After a brief introduction, we start our snowmobile trip over the frozen Yukon or Takhini River. On the snowy river, we have enough time to familiarize ourselves with the snowmobile before continuing our tour on the Old Dawson Overland also known as the Trans Canada Trail.
We will have our lunch break at a historic place and warm ourselves up at the camp fire. Hot drinks and grilled sausages will strengthen us for the return journey.

Day 5:
After the exertions of the last few days, we are going to take it a bit quieter today. We dedicate ourselves to the favorite sport of the Yukon – “ice fishing”. First we get a license and then we drive to the beautifully situated Jackson Lake and will try our luck at ice fishing on the lake. Maybe we’ll catch one of the marvelous Lake trouts. In the late afternoon, you will have time to relax in the Takhini Hot Springs and the sauna and recharge your energy for your upcoming adventure.

Day 6:
Today we make you a dog musher. What is that ? You will know this at the end of the day!
We will take you for a dog sledding trip and you will drive your own dog sled team. After a short introduction by the Musherguide, you will take over your dog team and off you go. Over secluded snowy trails and the snow covered Fish Lake – listen to the quiet whoosh of the runners and the soft panting of your huskies.
A dog sledding trip is a real Yukon adventure where you will have your joy.
