About Us
🏕️ Yukon Wide Adventures – Your Wilderness Starts Here
Founded in 1991 as “Log Cabin Adventures Yukon”, Yukon Wide Adventures has grown into one of the Yukon’s most successful German- and English-speaking tour operators and outfitters. With decades of experience and a passion for the wild, we’re proud to deliver authentic, small-group adventures that showcase the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant biodiversity of the Yukon.
In 2007, our efforts were recognized when National Geographic listed us among the “Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth.” In 2008 and 2009, we were awarded the Yukon Tourism Award of Excellence – Marketing Innovation, honoring our creative contributions to the Yukon’s tourism landscape.
Meet our crew!

Aaron
Aaron Peck grew up paddling rivers across Canada and racing 1,000 miles through Alaska in the Iditarod. He and his wife Eva now raise their four kids in the Yukon, exploring the outdoors by canoe, dog team, or anything that doesn’t need charging.

Liam
Liam grew up paddling near Vancouver Island but fell for Yukon rivers. A seasoned guide who speaks English and French, he’s done it all—except bear wrestling (they won’t sign the waiver). His skills and love for adventure make every trip memorable.

Olek
Olek, a French-speaking outdoorsman of Ukrainian descent, brings bush smarts and trail tricks to every trip. With a knack for turning wilderness into adventure, he makes every journey feel like a story worth retelling—sometimes in two languages.
❄️ Four Seasons of Adventure
At Yukon Wide Adventures, we operate year-round, offering a variety of unforgettable outdoor experiences:
-
Summer: Canoeing, hiking, kayaking tours, and camping adventures
-
Autumn: Wildlife viewing and the arrival of Aurora Season
-
Winter: Dog sledding, snowshoeing, and ice fishing
-
Spring: Remote wilderness transitions and early migration experiences
Whether you’re paddling pristine rivers or watching northern lights dance over a frozen lake, we’re here to help you connect with the wilderness in all its forms.
👣 From Whitewater to Wilderness – Our History
In 2003, the company was taken over by Thomas de Jager, a whitewater kayaking expert with over 40 years of experience and more than 100 national and international competition finishes. As a certified Canoe Sport Instructor (German Olympic Sports Federation), Thomas brought technical excellence and mentoring skill to the team, training youth in the Monheim Canoe Club 1972 e.V. and guiding paddlers of all experience levels.
In 2024, Yukon Wide Adventures entered a new era under the ownership of Aaron and Eva Peck.
-
Aaron is one of Canada’s top long-distance dog mushers, having competed in the legendary Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race—a 1,000-mile journey across Alaska. With over 30 years of exploring the wilderness with his dogs, Aaron is the definition of a Yukon outdoorsman.
-
Eva, raised in the Swiss Alps, was skiing before she could walk and feels just as at home on a canoe as she does on a hiking trail. Her joy is sharing wild beauty with others.
Together with their four adventure-loving children, Aaron and Eva embody the Yukon lifestyle across all four seasons.
