2027 Self-Guided River & Camping Equipment Rentals
Self-Guided Gear Info
Yukon Wide Adventures offers equipment rentals primarily for guests undertaking multi-day self-guided river trips in the Yukon. Our rental inventory focuses on durable, expedition-style equipment that can be difficult for travelers to bring with them.
We are not a short-term general camping-equipment rental service. Equipment rentals are intended to support multi-day wilderness and river trips.
Equipment rentals are generally intended to accompany a Yukon Wide Adventures canoe rental, shuttle service, or multi-day self-guided river trip.
Yukon Wide Adventures reserves the right to decline equipment-only rental requests that do not fit our self-guided river program, even when the minimum rental amount is met.

Camping Equipment Rental Terms & Conditions
$500 Cleaning & Damage Deposit
A $500 Cleaning & Damage Deposit is required for camping-equipment rentals.
The deposit is separate from rental charges and will be returned following inspection of the equipment, provided the equipment is returned clean, complete and in proper working order.
Equipment Must Be Returned Clean
All rental equipment must be returned reasonably clean and properly organized.
We understand that this equipment is being used in the Yukon wilderness. Normal dirt, wear and signs of reasonable wilderness use are expected.
However, guests are responsible for basic cleaning before returning their equipment.
Kitchen Kits require particular attention. Dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, cooking utensils and other kitchen equipment must be washed and returned free of food residue and excessive grease. The Kitchen Kit should be neatly repacked into its supplied storage box.
Yukon Wide Adventures should not have to wash dishes, scrub dirty cookware, remove food or grease, or perform significant cleaning and organization that reasonably should have been completed by the renter.
If significant cleaning or reorganization is required, some or all of the $500 Cleaning & Damage Deposit may be retained to cover the additional labour and cleaning.
Damage & Normal Wear
We understand that equipment occasionally breaks or malfunctions during normal wilderness use.
A tent zipper may fail, a buckle may break, or another piece of equipment may simply wear out. Normal wear and tear and equipment failure will not be charged against the deposit when the problem is reported to Yukon Wide Adventures.
Damage resulting from misuse, negligence or improper care may be charged against the deposit.
Damaged Equipment Must Be Reported
Any damaged, broken, lost or malfunctioning equipment must be reported when the equipment is returned.
We understand that things can break during a wilderness trip. What is important is that we know about the problem before the equipment is packed away and prepared for another guest.
If Yukon Wide Adventures discovers unreported damage, missing equipment or a known equipment problem after the rental has been returned, some or all of the $500 deposit may be retained.
Lost or Missing Equipment
Renters are responsible for equipment that is lost or not returned.
Reasonable repair or replacement costs may be deducted from the Cleaning & Damage Deposit.
If repair or replacement costs exceed the $500 deposit, the renter remains responsible for the additional amount.
Cleaning & Damage Deposit May Be Applied To
The deposit may be applied toward excessive cleaning, missing or lost equipment, damage caused by misuse or negligence, repair or replacement beyond normal wear and tear, unreported damage discovered after return, or excessive labour required to sort, clean or reorganize returned equipment.
Any remaining balance of the deposit will be returned following inspection.
Our Approach
The purpose of the Cleaning & Damage Deposit is not to penalize guests for the normal realities of wilderness travel. Equipment gets dirty, and occasionally equipment fails.
We simply ask that Yukon Wide Adventures equipment be treated with reasonable care, kitchen equipment be properly cleaned, all equipment be returned, and any problems or damage be communicated honestly when the equipment is returned.
This helps us maintain safe, clean and reliable equipment for the next Yukon river expedition.
By accepting rental equipment from Yukon Wide Adventures, the renter acknowledges and agrees to these Camping Equipment Rental Terms & Conditions.
