Yukon 1000 – High Performance Racing Rentals

With many years of experience in kayak racing and several years in the Yukon 1000 and in the Yukon River Quest, we offer you our professional service and support for the Yukon 1000 race. Thomas has already successfully competed in the Yukon 1000 and finished the Yukon River Quest 9 times among the top 3 solo and tandem kayakers and won twice the overall ranking and three times in the voyageur category, as well as the 1st place in single kayak. He paddled more than 30,000 km on the Yukon between Whitehorse, Dawson City and Dalton Highway in the last 20 years. Hardly anyone knows these river sections better than Thomas.

We offer you first-class boat material, which is used exclusively for Marathon Racing. We have various fast double kayaks, double canoes and SUP’s in our rental fleet.

Yukon Wide Adventures race boats have had multiple successes in the 2022/2023 Yukon 1000 race. The WK 640 tandem kayaks proved to be the best double kayaks for the race, breaking all previous records. The World of Kayak WK 640 Sport set a new over all record of 5 days 11 hours and 48 minutes. The H20 Slingshot 222 double canoe also took another first place with 6 days 7 hours and 55 minutes.

Do you need a good paddle for the Yukon 1000 ?

We carry various racing wing kayak paddles from Braca, Prijon and Knysna Racing for marathon racers and experienced paddlers.
For canoeists we have the high-quality bend shaft carbon paddle Power Surge Plus from ZRE in stock.

WK 640 K2 Sport

This double kayak is a fantastic combination of speed in relation to the volume of the boat.  The difference to the expedition variant is that the seats are closer together and the middle storage space is thus eliminated. Because of the shape and dimensions of the bottom, this boat is really fast and the perfect boat for marathons and other long distance races. It has relatively low deck for a double and therefore there is enough comfort for shorter paddlers as well.

This boat placed 1st in 2022 in the K2 category and holds the overall Yukon 1000 record with a time of 5 days 11 hours and 48 minutes.

The Verano SUP 13’3 GT with its fantastic gliding abilities is a well-suited board for the Yukon 1000. The large volume, the narrower design and 2 luggage spiders are perfect for carrying the necessary equipment. With long, parallel sidewalls, the board requires only a few steering strokes when paddling straight ahead.
